France Elite Teams By Season : 2015-16

For this season nine sides were in the Elite One league, with AS Carcassone taking the top spot from FC Lézignan-Corbières and Limoux Grizzlies. All these sides are near each other, in the Aude Cathar region I believe.



Finals: Anyway, the finals went into a three group stage that led to a final eight sides. With the final four, AS Carcassone narrowly defeated St Estève - XIII Catalan 18-16. On the other side of the draw, Limoux Grizzlies overcame FC Lézignan 22-18. The final mixed up the order of the league placings with Limoux Grizzlies narrowly taking out the grand final from AS Carcassone 26-24. 5,500 came along to Albi to see the game.

The Lord Derby Cup reached the semi-finals stage with Limoux defeating Lézignan 42 – 22. Also, St Estève prevailed over Sporting Club Albigeois (Albi) 48 - 16. In the final St Estève - XIII Catalan defeated Limoux Grizzlies 33-16. The game was attended by 4,200 at Carcassonne.

An extra side was added for the following season, with RC St Gaudens XIII coming on board.
