RL WC 2017 : Grand Final Summary

I've been unable to update the WC until now so apologies for that.

The game was a tight affair, with little given away by either side. Australia scored a try in the 15th minute (converted) and that was how the first half finished. The second period was again a struggle with England denied the chance to equalise by just an ankle tap. No additional points were added, making this the lowest scoring final ever and equal lowest score in any RL WC match. It was the first nil score in any WC final too.

England showed how good their defence was, a step up for them. However, scoring points was still the Achilles heel. Australia are not at their peak as a RL nation, evidenced by their just scoring six points. However, they still are the world's best even if the margin has narrowed.

Final score: Australia 6-0 England. Attendance: 40,033.
