UK SL Table : 2017

I am firmly of the opinion that the regular SL season should finish after 23 rounds. That is because the top eight go on to an elimination league and the bottom four go into a playoff competition. So how did things work out?

17 Club Pts 16

1 Castleford 40 6

2 Leeds 30 9

3 Hull FC 27 1

4 Salford 26 10

5 Wakefield 26 8

6 St Helens 25 4

7 Wigan 23 3

8 Huddersfield 21 12

9 Warrington 20 2

10 Catalans 15 5

11 Leigh 12 P

12 Widnes 11 7

R Hull KR - 11

In the '17' column is the 2017 ranking and the '16' column has the 2016 ranking. Leigh was promoted and Hull KR relegated. Castleford moved up from 6th to 1st, leeds from 9th to 2nd and Salford from 10th to 4th. Going the other way was Wigan (3rd to 7th), Warrington (2nd to 9th) and Catalans (5th to 10th).

The colour coding is according to area. White is Yorkshire, red Lancashire, yellow Cheshire and France Bleu. Yorkshire has had a good season with all five teams making the next round, compared to last year when it was just three. 2017 wasn't a good year for neither Cheshire nor France.

Below the Super League division, there is the Championship. For the 2017 Championship Table, please click here.
