France Elite Teams By Season : 2013-14

For this season, just eight sides were in the Elite One competition, down from nine the year before. After than the teams went into some sort of three group twelve team playoff that leads to the finals knock out phase that gives a grand final.

The Elite One: Salanque Méditerranée Pia XIII and RC Lescure-Arthès XIII had dropped from the Elite One, to be replaced by Palau XIII Broncos. Obviously this lowered the number of teams by one. The Limoux Grizzlies took out this stage from Toulouse Olympique, with St Estève - XIII Catalan and FC Lézignan following up.

Finals: In the penultimate round Toulouse Olympique easily passed Villeneuve 30-14. FC Lézignan progressed to the final with a with a 26-10 victory over St Estève XIII Catalan. The final saw Toulouse win decisively 38-12 over Lézignan. 7,200 attended the game at Perpignan.

Lord Derby Cup: The semi finals brought Toulouse Olympique and Palau XIII Broncos together. The former won 52 – 16. Sporting Olympique Avignon had to get past AS Carcassonne but the 6 - 26 meant no final appearance. Toulouse Olympique took the final from AS Carcassonne 46 – 10. 6,800 attended at Carcassonne.

Toulouse Olympique was the best side by some margin this year with a host of others some way behind but close to each other.
