International Results : 2019 July- September

The international calendar for RL seems more active than ever. Here is a summary of those not covered elsewhere in the blog. I will only cover true international games, presumably with test match recognition.

14th July, Colombia vs India, Brisbane, Australia

The newly formed Indian Jungle Cats took on the high flying Colombia Condors. They took a surprise 16-0 lead early on and lead 22-6 at the break. The second period was more even but the surprise win was sealed.

India 30-16 Colombia.

24th August, Czech Rep vs Serbia, Vrchlabí, Czech Rep

The Serbian side had its emphasis on youth with an eye on the future. The home side edged the first half 8-0 but the Serbian side took the lead in the second period 10-8 but was unable to hold on.

Czech Rep 18-10 Serbia. (Crowd 400).

14th September, Germany vs Netherlands, Gnarrenburg, Germany

The Netherlands won their third consecutive Griffin Cup between these two nations.

15th September, Peru vs Uruguay, Sydney Australia

Uruguay took a slight lead into half time but immediately after the resumption of play, tempers flared and players were both sent off and sin-binned. Peru later lead 34-24 but two late tries were not enough for the Uruguay Gauchos to snatch victory.

Peru 34-30 Uruguay.

21st September, Serbia vs Canada, Belgrade, Serbia

Serbia had the better of the first half, leading 24-8 at half time. There was less scoring in the second half as the locals secured a reasonably comfortable victory. Well done Canada for making the trip.

28th September, Poland vs Czech Rep, Łódź, Poland

In a city pronounced Wood'ch, the Polish national side were able to overcome the Czech visitors. The RLEF had no report on the match.
