World Ranking (Women) : 2017

Women's RL is becoming more popular and more organised into competitions. It's now got its own label on this site and this is the first article. The 2017 WC had a women's section but that has past so this will be the ongoing label to keep up with what's going on. I'll have to be vigilant in keeping up with the subject as it still tends to fly under the radar somewhat.

Of course, comparisons are made to the men's game but to me it's different and has its unique flavour. I make no comparison the the men's version. What I will say about women's RL is how intense the players are. They really get stuck in. 

The nations have been ranked for 2017 and here is the list. Only nine entries for now but I assume it will quickly move from here. The nations represented at the WC are understandably at the top of the rankings. I'm surprised there aren't more Pacific Island nations listed. There was a playoff for the WC that involved Tonga and Samoa but they don't get on the list. Baffling. Anyway, here is the first RLIF rankings:
