The final pool round where no surprises were expected or delivered.
England 68-32 Ireland. After a quarter of the match gone, Ireland had a surprising 14-0 lead and shortly after 20-4. England came back to lead 22-20 at the break.
Wales 92-18 USA. Wales led 54-0 at half time and it was looking ominous for the USA. To their credit, they fought back and only lost the second half 18-38. That will give the US players something to build on.
France 69-34 Australia. After 30 minutes it was 18-18 and 30-22 at half time. France gradually gained ascendency to pull away. I thought the Australian team was excessively niggly.
Scotland 62-18 NZ. It was 12-12 after 25 minutes but it was 32-12 at the break. Scotland went on to record their first ever WC win in their 12th match.
