12th October, Italy vs Malta, Sydney, Australia
In poor weather conditions, the two sides (absent of stars apart from J Sammut for Malta) took to the field. It was Malta that had the better of the first half, leading 10-2 at the break. For the second half, it was Italy that started the stronger and soon had the lead 14-10. Malta then came back and took a solid lead and held off Italy's last ditch effort to win the game.
Malta 23-20 Italy.

19th October, Poland vs Norway, Łódź, Poland
Norway are above Sweden in standard so this was an even bigger test for the newbies. So it proved to be.

19th October, Italy vs Philippines, Sydney, Australia
The Philippine Tamaraws are still relatively new to the game but they started well, with the scoreline 12-12 after a quarter of the game had passed. However, by the turnaround the Azzuri were up 22-16 and went on to take the game quite comfortably despite a spirited effort by the Tamaraws.
Italy 44-16 Philippines
26th October, Malta vs Turkey, Sydney, Australia
In hot conditions the first half was noted for aggressive tackling by Turkey and poor discipline costing them. Tempers often frayed but Malta showed their class, leading 22-0 at the break. It was then Malta's turn to be often penalised but held on to win reasonably comfortably.
Malta 28-12 Turkey
9th November, Philippines vs Japan, Manilla, Philippines
It was a game dubbed the Asian Cup but only featuring one game this year. Japan defeated Hong Kong in 2018 to qualify. The Tamaraws featured only local players and were no match for the Samurais. Half time had the visitors up 38-0 and the second half was a repeat of the first. At least the locals were rewarded with one try.
Japan 74-4 Philippines
