Of course, such qualities exist in all spheres of society but RL needs everyone to pull together as it a minor sport with limited resources.

There was a wonderful grand final in which a French side made for the first time. Instead of celebrating the event, the owner of the French club came out with a bitter attitude after losing which soured the whole thing for me. I can see the game getting mired in more accusations and recriminations. I'm over the narrow-minded mentality that blights the game. I'm glad you enjoyed what I did do. All the best Dan.RayCeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11459801818458845271noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6354415412611503001.post-91750608354078251812021-10-12T10:00:58.946+13:002021-10-12T10:00:58.946+13:00Don’t know what happened, but this is a real shame...Don’t know what happened, but this is a real shame. I enjoy all of your takes, and reading the French posts through the decades has been fascinating. Nonetheless, I trust that you have your reasons, so do what you think is right.

I am down under myself, and even though you are off the NRL (I can understand the reasoning) it would be great (and I say this in a self-interested way!) if you could do some QRL posts. They aren’t as complicit as those buggers down south, right? :)

Anyway, keep up the great work, whatever it is that you decide to post going forward.Dannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6354415412611503001.post-91384207287785725302021-07-23T19:32:36.847+12:002021-07-23T19:32:36.847+12:00OK. I have put that out in various series on my World Football blog. It hasn't been noticed much but then I haven't tried to push it at all and it's only new.

My RL data for France goes back to 1989-90 but is patchy, more so the earlier it is. The NRL back to 1975, the Queensland Cup back to 1996 when it started I believe. The UK 1960-61 but again should go back further.

I find learning about the history in this way broadens my understanding of the game. I appreciate your input and understand any data is only as reliable as the source. I have the RFL and NRL from the start plus most European football leagues. The French RL has been trickier to collate as it is less frequently in the news and sometimes has conflicting data/information. I have the finishing positions for the following years - 1975, 1986-93 (91 top 8 only) and 1999-2021. As I said I can't swear that they are 100% correct but I am happy with them.
